Compensation: dependent on experience

Employment type: part time, two days a week

We are a family business in the meat industry, looking to hire a part time bookkeeper. 

Position Overview: As the Bookkeeper, you will report directly to the President, and your primary responsibilities will be to maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; post transactions, purchase orders, and invoicing. 

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper: 
• Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
• Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
• Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
• Maintains historical records by filing documents
• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

Qualifications for the Bookkeeper: 
• 1-3 years of experience working in accounts payable and receivable
• Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and QuickBooks

Education Requirements: 
• Associate's Degree is preferred but not required
