Is Berkshire pork the same as Kurobuta pork?
Yes, Berkshire pork and Kurobuta pork are the same thing. “Kurobuta” is the Japanese name for Berkshire pork, which translates to “black hog” or “black pig.” The Berkshire breed originated in England centuries ago and was later imported to Japan, where it gained legendary status for its exceptional marbling, rich flavor, tenderness, and juicy texture — often compared to Kobe beef. In the United States, we simply call it Berkshire pork. When you see “Kurobuta” on labels here, it refers to the same heritage Berkshire breed. Our Berkshire pork and other meats are raised without antibiotics and come from responsibly raised animals on family farms. We focus on all-natural, high-welfare practices for the best possible flavor and quality.
Where do you ship?
We ship fresh to your door anywhere in the continental United States. We offer free shipping on orders over $199 and free 2-day shipping on eligible orders. Pickup is also available at our facility in Union City, NJ.
How is the meat packaged and shipped?
All orders are carefully packed with dry ice or gel packs in insulated boxes to keep the meat frozen or properly chilled during transit. Your order arrives fresh and ready for your freezer or immediate use.
What is your satisfaction guarantee?
We stand behind every product with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not completely happy with the quality or freshness of your order, contact us within 7 days of receipt for a full refund or replacement. Some older references mention 15 days — we honor the most generous policy for our customers.
